Franco Maria Ricci: from Scic to the Maze

Our story begins with the meeting of two young Parmesans: Renzo Fornari, entrepreneur, and Franco Maria Ricci, graphic and editor. It all started with an acronym and a brand. “Super Cucine Italiane Componibili” (Modular Italian Super-Kitchens), that is SCIC.
Ricci, a graphic designer who was little more than a novice, designed its logo and several advertising campaigns. Many things have happened since 1963; in 2015, Franco Maria Ricci inaugurated what is currently the largest bamboo maze in the world: the Labyrinth of Masone in Fontanellato, in the Province of Parma.
Today, on the occasion of Salone del Mobile 2017, the SCIC showroom hosts an installation created by Franco Maria Ricci to celebrate half a century of collaboration, complicity and friendship. Surrounded by green, each visitor is led to discover the newest SCIC kitchen decorated by artist Giovanni Bressana, which is included in the new “Programma Labirinto” collection.
