SCIC joins the Emilia-Romagna region’s announcement for digital transition, with a project entitled “New digital technologies for SCIC Spa’s production process.”
The goals the company set out to achieve by participating in this call are threefold:
- innovation, through the introduction of new digital 4.0 technologies
- optimization of the production process, through an increase in quality standards
- competitiveness, increasing competitiveness in product offerings
Digitization was achieved by automating the production process, and was also confirmed by external universal standards, such as the Acatech scale, which monitors a company’s transition from a 3.0 to a 4.0 approach.
In SCIC, this parameter initially stood at three, and as a result of participation in the call it achieved a level four. Industry 4.0 standards were achieved through the purchase of two new machines (Brema Vektor 15 and BIESSE’s Selco WN2) that enabled the creation of an interconnected and integrated line, as well as a more efficient data collection system.
We can say that the goals set by the company have been fully achieved: the production process has been digitized, and it will certainly kick-start an ever-growing innovation project.
