“Fashion giant Fendi has made its first foray into kitchen design, joining forces with Italian specialist Scic to launch a new brand, Fendi Cucine. Its debut ofering comprises two kitchen islands, intended for domestic or professional use.
Ginger, combining marble and copper finishes, and Kurkum, a stainless steel monolith (pictured), are both designed by Italian architect Marco Costanzi, who also worked with Fendi on its new Milan offices and the renovation of its iconic HQ at Rome’s Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, and has created products for Fendi Casa. Hand-finishing is courtesy of Parma-based Scic’s artisans.
Kurkum is characterised by its specially treated stainless steel surfaces that combine the material’s signature resilience with a darker, more textured aesthetic. Countertops feature Peltrox, with a pewter-hued satin finish, while doors are made of durable Titaniox. Appliances are from Grand Cuisine, ensuring professional functionality. The kitchen’s details nod to Fendi’s fashion calling, from ribbon-like handles and knobs to the house’s signature Pequin stripes, the only expressive marks on an otherwise essential, minimalist design.
